Spain Restaurant

I have to start this blog with one of my favorite restaurants: Spain Restaurant.
Spain Restaurant is a small restaurant located in Echo Park. Is not your typical restaurant, the location is a little inconvenient, there is little parking and the restaurant is very small. But once you taste the food, you forget all of that. The service has always been great, and the food is very home style with the traditional Spanish taste.

The Paella, which is such a traditional Spanish dish, comes in moderate portions and you have the option to ask for a portion big enough for various amounts of guests. The paella is a mix of beef, chicken, pork, Spanish sausage, seafood, vegetables and rice. It is served in the same pan as it is cook, so you know if it was not done correctly. The rice is still moist, but not soggy and the meat is tender and not over or under cook. Your can taste the flavor of the spices, the meat and the vegetables with a little freshness of lime juice all combine into one great dish. All the flavors in this paella are perfect. One of my favorite dishes from this restaurant is the Argentinean’s empanadas. They have chicken, beef, cheese and, jam and cheese. Empanadas are like small savory cakes. They are crispy on the outside and soft and tender in the inside. The flavors are strong, but not overpowering, and the texture is always right. Another of my favorite things from this restaurant is that they have a great variety of Latin American products which are hard to find in other stores. Every time I go I order a Guarana (a Brazilian soft drink), which I can rarely find somewhere else. I always stop by when I don’t have a lot of time and want food that taste like I went to a great restaurant in no time. Since the location is not that great, I usually make it to go. But either way, this is one of my favorite restaurants. I go as often as a can, since it is near by where I live.

Overall food and service are always great, prices are medium, and the location and parking are bad. But if you make it to go, or live near by you can get it delivered and forget about the location and parking.

Spain Restaurant is definitely one of my favorites.
